The Institute of Road Transport Engineers of New Zealand (IRTENZ) is a multi-faceted organisation. Its primary function is furthering the interests of Road Transport Engineers, for whom it is a collective "voice", industry resource and a co-ordinating body. IRTENZ involvement can and does include:
- Presenting members' views to local and central government
- Input into road transport legislation
- Industry education and communication
- The provision of forums for the interchange of ideas among members and associated groups.
IRTENZ is acknowledged by all parties with whom it is associated as a professional, authoritative and important contributor to the welfare of New Zealand's road transport industry.
